FC Bayern are currently without Jamal Musiala – now Joshua Kimmich has commented on his team-mate’s situation
The absence of Jamal Musiala has hit FC Bayern at a crucial stage of the season. The attacking player is still struggling with ankle problems and is currently unavailable. The 23-year-old is also missing from the German national team as a result
Joshua Kimmich made it clear at the DFB press conference how important Musiala is for the team and the system – and how difficult the current situation is for the attacking player himself
„Jamal is a very important player for FC Bayern and the German national team. We all hope that he will be fit again soon. He suffered a very serious injury last summer. It’s not easy to get back to your old level straight away,“ said the national team captain at the DFB press conference
Kimmich emphasizes Musiala’s quality
Despite the current problems, Kimmich believes the Bayern star is on the right track. In his appearances so far, Musiala has already shown his potential: „I thought he played well in the games he played in, especially those in which he was in the starting eleven. He has shown that he is a special player,“ said the 31-year-old

Even though FC Bayern are currently playing at a high level, Musiala is missing a special component in their attacking play, and Kimmich made it clear that the 23-year-old’s influence can hardly be replaced
„Even though we are already playing at a good level at FC Bayern at the moment, we know that Jamal can make the difference at any time when he is on the pitch. He is extremely important for us because he has a quality that is rare in the world of soccer,“ he explained
Munich will be hoping that Musiala can return to full fitness after the international break, as the creative playmaker is urgently needed ahead of the Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
