FC Bayern is in a state of emergency during the international break – and an unusual constellation is causing a stir
While 16 of the record champions‘ professionals have left for their national teams, only one fit outfield player, Raphaël Guerreiro, remains in Munich, as reported by BILD. The Portuguese was last considered for the Seleção in November 2023 and no longer plays a role in the national team
The consequences of this personnel situation are clearly noticeable: regular team training is currently not taking place at Säbener Straße. Instead, everything is focused on individual sessions – especially for the injured players
With Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlovic, several important players are working on their comeback, with the sessions being staggered in order to optimally control the workload
The situation of Musiala and Davies in particular is being closely monitored internally, as both are scheduled for the decisive phase of the season
Kane receives special treatment
Harry Kane is also currently still in Munich – but only temporarily. The England international will not travel to the national team until later and is therefore deliberately being given an additional break
This decision was made in close consultation with England national team coach Thomas Tuchel due to the enormous strain on the striker, who has already played over 3,500 minutes this season
Tuchel explained the measure clearly: they wanted to „give the players a break mentally and physically“, a decision that should also meet with approval at FC Bayern
The international break comes at a sensitive time for Munich, with one of the most important games of the season awaiting them after the break: the Champions League clash against Real Madrid
Hopes are therefore high that all players will return healthy and that the injured players in particular will be fit again in time
The unusually quiet days at Säbener Straße could ultimately prove to be a valuable phase of regeneration – ahead of what could be the decisive stage of the season.
