FC Bayern have stabilized their defence for the present – but plans for the future are already underway in the background, with a highly talented player from Spain coming into focus

Cubarsí as a desired solution – but hardly realistic
The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the biggest defensive talents in Europe and the Bayern bosses‘ dream solution. Trained at La Masia, Cubarsí has firmly established himself in the first team at FC Barcelona under former Bayern coach Hansi Flick. He has already made 39 competitive appearances for the Catalans this season
The youngster has also made a name for himself internationally at an early stage: with ten appearances for the Spanish national team, he is one of the most promising central defenders in the world despite his young age
In sporting terms, Cubarsí would fit in perfectly with FC Bayern’s requirements profile, but a transfer is proving extremely difficult. His contract at Barcelona runs until 2029 and contains an exit clause of €500 million – an amount that effectively rules out a move
The estimated market value of around 80 million euros also highlights the dimensions of a potential deal. Even if Bayern were prepared to invest such a sum, it is unlikely that the Spaniard would leave
The Catalans are banking on their home-grown talent in the long term – and the loyalty of La Masia players is also known to be high
For FC Bayern, Cubarsí therefore remains an exciting future scenario for the time being, but not a concrete transfer target. The Munich club are keeping a close eye on the market – but continue to act with a sense of proportion and strategic vision.
