FC Bayern face Bayer Leverkusen in the top match of the 26th Bundesliga matchday. This is how coach Vincent Kompany’s starting eleven looks
FC Bayern are away to Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 26 of the Bundesliga, kicking off at 3.30 p.m. The Munich line-up is now available
Sven Ulreich will be in goal as Manuel Neuer is still out with a torn muscle fiber and Jonas Urbig is also unavailable after suffering a concussion
Josip Stanisic, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer will start in the back four, with Alphonso Davies (hamstring strain) and Hiroki Ito (torn muscle fibre) still missing
Kompany will rely on Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic in central midfield
Kane again not in the starting eleven
In attack, a back three of Michael Olise, Lennart Karl and Luis Diaz will line up
Nicolas Jackson will be at the heart of the attack, meaning that Harry Kane will once again not make his comeback in the starting eleven
Kompany warned against opponents Leverkusen ahead of the game: „Tactically, they have a red line. They play 5-2-3. Ernest Poku sometimes moves into midfield to put extra pressure on them. The result against Arsenal shows that it will be a tough game. They were difficult to break down. Maybe they even deserved more. That’s perfect for me, so the team knows that it won’t be easy.“
He set the course for his team as follows: „We’ll have to be poisonous if we want to get something there. Leverkusen have a lot of talent, they have a little less experience than in previous years. It will be a good game for the fans and hopefully for Bayern too.“
The line-ups at a glance
FC Bayern: Ulreich – Stanisic, Upamecano, Tah, Laimer – Kimmich, Pavlovic – Olise, Karl, Diaz – Jackson
Bayer Leverkusen: To follow shortly
Leverkusen are missing Arthur (syndesmosis tear), Badé (thigh muscle injury), Ben Seghir (ankle injury) and Grimaldo (5th yellow card).
