FC Bayern have suffered their next injury setback: youngster David Santos Daiber has suffered a muscle injury and is out of action for the time being
FC Bayern will have to do without David Santos Daiber for the time being. The club have announced that the 19-year-old midfielder has suffered a muscle injury in his thigh. The Portuguese U19 international will therefore miss the Munich U19s for the time being
Santos Daiber is one of the more noticeable talents on the Bayern campus. The midfielder moved to the German record champions from TSV Milbertshofen back in 2016 and has passed through several of the club’s youth teams since then
So far this season, the 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for the U19s – both in the Youth League and in the DFB Youth League, scoring one goal in the process. He has also already gained his first experience in the men’s game, most recently making two appearances for Bayern’s amateurs in the regional league
Santos Daiber has already had a taste of the Bundesliga
Santos Daiber has also already made his first impression with the professionals. At the end of December, the midfielder made his Bundesliga debut in the 4-0 win against 1. FC Heidenheim. He also came on as a substitute in the 4-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany’s top flight on matchday 25
The loss comes at a bad time for FC Bayern, who are currently having to cope with several personnel setbacks
Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig are currently out and there are further injury concerns following the 6-1 win in Bergamo, in which Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies were injured. Hiroki Ito is also still unavailable to coach Vincent Kompany. Santos Daiber is now the next absentee.
