According to media reports, FC Bayern have finalized their first summer transfer
FC Bayern have apparently secured another talent from the Red Bull cosmos, with pay-TV broadcaster Sky reporting that Matteo Maric from RB Salzburg has already signed for Munich
Two former Red Bull officials, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, are now responsible for squad planning at the German record champions, so it is hardly surprising that the Munich club regularly take a look at their former employer
As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano initially revealed, FC Bayern have recently been working hard to sign Matteo Maric, an attacking midfielder who is currently under contract with RB Salzburg and is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Austrian youth system
Bayern initially plans Maric for the campus
According to the original plans, Maric was initially intended to be part of Munich’s youth academy, meaning that the ten-time Austrian international would follow a similar path to Jamal Musiala and other young talents who were initially developed on the Bayern campus
The attacking midfielder is regarded as a technically adept playmaker with good vision and game intelligence. In Salzburg, he has established himself as one of the most exciting talents of his age group in recent years and has thus also played his way into the international spotlight
For Bayern, Maric therefore fits in perfectly with the strategic direction of those responsible, which is to focus more on young players with the potential for development. In the youth sector in particular, Munich has been trying for some time to attract more international talent at an early stage
Contract already signed

Bayern apparently didn’t have to negotiate for long. As Sky has since reported, the deal is already done and Maric has now signed his contract in Munich
The ten-time Austrian international will move to the Isar in the summer. The exact amount of the transfer fee is not yet known, but it is clear that RB Salzburg are likely to receive a corresponding training allowance for the youngster
With this transfer, FC Bayern is once again focusing on promising young players from the Red Bull network. Under the sporting leadership of Eberl and Freund, this path could be taken even more frequently in the future.
