The reason for his continued success is, of course, Kane’s outstanding form. After 24 Bundesliga games, he now has an incredible 30 goals. Lewandowski record within reach?
With his world-class goal tally, Kane is currently following in the footsteps of Robert Lewandowski. The Pole scored 41 Bundesliga goals for FC Bayern in the 2020/21 season – a record that Kane would of course „definitely“ like to break: „I just have to keep playing the way I’m doing right now. I have to try to stay consistent over this period. We’ll see at the end of April or beginning of May whether it’s possible. But of course it’s an issue now – and I just have to keep doing what I’ve been doing.“
If Kane cracks this season, he will certainly be able to lift the championship trophy. Despite the victory in the classic, however, he does not believe that the title race is already over: „I don’t think it’s over. We have an eleven-point lead, but that can change quickly. We have to stay focused. Of course, today was a big game and an important boost for us. With eleven points, we are in a good position, but as always, it’s sometimes easy to get motivated for games like this.
