At the classic match between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern, hardly anything can be heard from the Munich fans who travelled with the team. Now it has been revealed what is behind this
While a huge choreo could be seen in the Dortmund South Stand before kick-off at the Bundesliga classic and the BVB Ultras loudly supported their team from the start, it was noticeable that the Bayern fans who had travelled with them could hardly be heard in the Signal Iduna Park. Obviously not all of the FCB Ultras came into the block. The usual banners were not rolled out and there were no supporters‘ flags to be seen either
One might have thought that the fans‘ arrival had been delayed due to the current public transport strike in Dortmund, but this was not the case. The Bayern fans found their way to the stadium accompanied by the police without any delays
The reason for the lack of support was rather a conflict with the Dortmund police. As reported by the Münchner Abendzeitung , there was a confrontation with the police directly behind the away block at Signal-Iduna-Park. The officers are said to have attacked some of the Ultras with batons and pepper spray. It was initially unclear why the police took such harsh action
Around 500 Bayern fans not in the stadium
When asked by the Abendzeitung newspaper, Dortmund police explained that „a 29-strong group of Bayern fans tried to smuggle themselves into the guest block with fake or non-regular tickets“. The statement went on to say that these people were checked by the police and were then allowed to enter the stadium. However, some fans decided to remain outside the guest block. Sky is talking about around 500 supporters who are now watching the match from outside the stadium
Curious scene: #Musiala asks the #FCBayern fans why there is no active support from their own supporters at the #classic. Reason: The Bayern ultras probably had massive problems with the police before the game. Many fans even left the stadium before the game… pic.twitter.com/cJEHBcPJTB

Jamal Musiala also noticed that there was little to be heard from the fans when he went into the stands during the warm-up to ask why there was no support.
