Winter has Munich firmly in its grip and FC Bayern’s next competitive match has been postponed at short notice due to heavy snowfall
FC Bayern Amateure’s first competitive match of 2026 against SpVgg Unterhaching cannot take place as planned. The club has officially announced that the home game at the Grünwalder Stadion scheduled for Friday evening has been postponed due to the weather conditions and heavy snowfall since Thursday lunchtime
The match will now be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. Tickets already purchased will remain valid and the match will be broadcast live and free of charge on FC Bayern TV PLUS
The FC Bayern professionals will face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday (kick-off: 3.30 pm), but the Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena is currently not in jeopardy
Bayern women also affected
The FC Bayern women’s away match at Werder Bremen had to be canceled because the pitch at Weserstadion Platz 11 was deemed unplayable following an assessment by the relevant committees
A new date for the game in Bremen has not yet been set and will be announced shortly in consultation with both clubs and the association. For the Munich women, the cancellation means an unplanned interruption in the rhythm of the game – especially at a time when important points are at stake in the championship race
The Bayern women currently lead the table with 49 points from 17 games. VfL Wolfsburg follow eleven points behind, albeit with one game less. Werder Bremen are in sixth place with 28 points
Next up for the Munich women is the top-of-the-table match against Wolfsburg on Sunday, February 22, followed by a trip to Hamburg on March 11 before hosting 1. FC Köln four days later.
