Dusan Vlahovic has been repeatedly linked with FC Bayern in recent months, but now there are many indications that the Juventus attacker prefers FC Barcelona instead
The name Dusan Vlahovic has repeatedly cropped up around FC Bayern when it comes to potential reinforcements for the forward line. The 26-year-old Serbian was seen as an interesting option – both as a backup for Harry Kane and as a long-term solution in the center of attack
However, the race for the Juventus striker could now develop in a different direction. According to the Italian portal Tuttosport, Vlahovic is said to have instructed his advisors to prepare a move to FC Barcelona. He is particularly attracted by the prospect of following in the footsteps of Robert Lewandowski at the Catalans
Contract expires – several clubs interested
In addition to FC Bayern, AC Milan and clubs from the Premier League are also said to be keeping an eye on the goalscorer. Vlahovic is in a comfortable position due to his expiring contract at Juventus. An extension in Turin is apparently not planned, meaning he could move on a free transfer in the summer
Such a transfer would be particularly attractive for the financially strapped FC Barcelona, especially as there could also be some changes in the forward line: Lewandowski’s contract is due to expire and there have recently been increasing reports of a possible separation. The future of Marcus Rashford, who was previously on loan from Manchester United, is also unclear
FC Bayern are also facing a change in attack. The obligation to buy Nicolas Jackson does not apply and the attacker is expected to return to Chelsea FC. Munich therefore need a reliable replacement for Kane – and even a potential successor to the 32-year-old
However, Vlahovic would not be a bargain despite his contract expiring. With an estimated annual salary of 22.5 million euros, he is one of the top earners at Juventus. According to media reports, he would be prepared to sacrifice salary, but is demanding a high hand money and a long-term contract for four or five years.
