Expert analyzes Laimer poker: „That didn’t make it any easier for Bayern“
Konrad Laimer has been one of FC Bayern’s top performers this season. The Austrian has made himself indispensable under Vincent Kompany, particularly as a right-back – which is why there is great interest at Säbener Straße in extending his contract, which runs until 2027, ahead of schedule. However, the talks are apparently proving more complicated than hoped.
Record international Lothar Matthäus shows understanding for the 28-year-old’s demands. In his Sky column, he explained that Laimer „wants to move up a bit in the salary structure“. The professional knows exactly what other players in the squad earn – and is naturally making comparisons.
Matthäus referred to Alphonso Davies, who „signed a good new contract some time ago“, as an example. For some years now, it has been common in soccer for contract details to leak out. „Five or six years ago, it started in the soccer business that ’sums were leaked‘. Since then, everyone knows what everyone else earns. Players come and say: ‚Why does he get more than me?‘ That hasn’t made it any easier for FC Bayern and that’s the difficulty Max Eberl has now.“
Gala fans mock Bayern over Boey: „How can you let him go?“
Sacha Boey is experiencing an evening at Galatasaray that he never had at FC Bayern. While the Frenchman was considered an expensive bad buy in Munich and could hardly provide any sporting arguments, he is suddenly causing euphoria in Istanbul – and mocking comments towards Säbener Straße.
