FC Bayern are continuing to explore the international market intensively. A young attacking talent from Belgium in particular is currently attracting attention. A real transfer poker could be in the offing this summer.
Konstantinos Karetsas has caught the eye of several top European clubs. According to transferfeed, FC Bayern is one of the clubs keeping a close eye on the KRC Genk attacker, who is already expected to face strong competition next summer.
The 18-year-old is currently listed with a market value of 28 million euros. However, it is clear that Genk is said to have significantly higher transfer fee expectations. Borussia Dortmund is also specifically looking at the Greek. According to information from Bild, BVB scouts have watched Karetsas live on several occasions and there is great interest. However, the talent is not available for less than 35 million euros – a sum that is currently difficult for Dortmund to afford.
No place for Karetsas in the Bayern squad?
It was reported back in December that FC Bayern were also looking at the Belgian-Greek attacking all-rounder. Karetsas is regarded as one of the most exciting talents of his age group and has earned himself a permanent place in the Genk team despite his young age. The attacking midfielder has scored 17 goals in 35 competitive games this season.
Karetsas prefers to operate between the lines, actively seeks out one-on-one situations and brings pace to transitional moments. His flexibility in attack makes him interesting for several systems. In addition to playing in central attacking midfield, he has also been deployed in half-right areas.
However, FC Bayern’s competition in these areas is currently very strong. With Jamal Musiala, Lennart Karl, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz, Munich have several options in the attacking center and on the wings. Nevertheless, those responsible are still keeping a close eye on young players with development potential.
