Palhinha himself has recently spoken openly about his sporting situation. In an interview with the BBC, he looked back on his move to FC Bayern and said: „When I moved to Bayern, I honestly didn’t expect to return so quickly.“
His return to the Premier League, on the other hand, was a conscious decision and one he made with conviction. „When the opportunity came up at Tottenham, I didn’t think twice because this league … it’s really special for me. I think my style of play suits this league really well.“
He added: „You can’t compare the Premier League to any other league. You always miss the Premier League when you’re away. There’s just something really special about it. The whole world watches the Premier League and the teams are arguably some of the most competitive in the world.“
On the other hand, the six-man, who is contractually tied to FC Bayern until 2028, described his time in Munich as challenging: „Probably the time I had at Bayern. I expected to play more when I moved there, but after the injury it wasn’t easy for me to get the right opportunities.“
Whether Tottenham invest the €31.5 million or Palhinha returns to Munich in the summer remains an open question, but one thing is clear: the decision will not be based solely on his performances, but also on strategic and economic considerations.
