Nick Woltemade and FC Bayern – this chapter could actually take a new turn in the summer. According to recent media reports, Newcastle United are considering letting the DFB striker go after just one season
Munich had already fought intensively for Woltemade in the summer of 2025. The attacker even agreed a transfer to the German record champions at the time. However, the deal ultimately fell through due to VfB Stuttgart’s high transfer fee demands. Newcastle seized the opportunity and signed the attacking player for around €80 million – a sum that raised expectations from the outset
As the British portal Football Insider reports, Bayern are monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation on the island very closely. Woltemade is still one of the candidates with whom Munich could strengthen their attack in the future. Particularly explosive: Newcastle are said not to be averse to a sale in principle
Woltemade is in a form crisis

In sporting terms, things are currently anything but ideal for the international in the Premier League. After a brilliant start with five goals in his first six competitive games, the initial euphoria has long since faded. Since November, he has scored just two goals in the league – both in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea on 20 December
Woltemade has now not scored in 13 competitive games and has often only been used as a substitute. Criticism in England is increasing noticeably, not least because the high transfer fee of 80 million euros hovers over his performances like a constant yardstick
In addition, another attacking option has returned in the form of Yoane Wissa, giving coach Eddie Howe additional alternatives and further weakening Woltemade’s role in the team
Will the Bayern switch happen at the second attempt?
From FC Bayern’s point of view, the main question is financial. According to Football Insider, Munich’s pain threshold is around 35 to 45 million euros – well below the amount Newcastle invested last year. The attacker’s current market value is estimated at around 70 million euros
Should the „Magpies“ actually be willing to talk, Newcastle would have to accept considerable sacrifices. Whether the English club are prepared to take such a step remains to be seen
What is clear, however, is that the Woltemade transfer saga could pick up speed again next summer, and this time FC Bayern could enter the race with better cards – provided the price and prospects are right
