Borussia Dortmund have once again moved closer to FC Bayern in the title race. Following Nico Schlotterbeck’s public announcement that they would be champions, FCB defender Jonathan Tah has now spoken out and made it clear how Munich are dealing with Dortmund’s challenge
In an interview with Sky, Tah initially reacted to the words of the BVB centre-back, who had formulated his ambition to compete for the championship. The Bayern star showed understanding – and at the same time self-confidence. „I think it’s nice when there are teams in the league who are trying to be successful. We’re continuing on our path. We know where we want to go – where we want to be in the end. Nevertheless, it’s nice that there are teams who have this ambition.“

Tah is already looking forward to the upcoming German classic at the end of February. It will be the centre-back’s first time in a Bayern shirt for the away game in Dortmund. „Away in Dortmund is something special. It’s my first time with FC Bayern – so I’m really looking forward to the game. It will be intense, but it will be good,“ said the 29-year-old
Tah: „Winning titles is always an issue“
Bayern first have to face Hoffenheim next, however. Tah had this to say about their upcoming opponents: „They run a lot, have an intense game, lots of sprints, lots of deep runs. They have a clear idea of what they want to do – it won’t be an easy game. Our aim is to come away from the game with three points.“
When asked if even winning the treble was a topic in the dressing room, he replied: „Being successful and winning titles is always a topic – it’s always present. In every training session, in every little tournament we play in training. Everyone wants to win. That’s why it’s also the case that we want to play for the big titles and be successful there. But we don’t title it. Rather, we know that we can beat any opponent and try to be successful. In the end, we’ll see if we win these titles. I think everything is in it for us this season.“
