Sacha Boey is increasingly becoming a difficult building site for FC Bayern. In the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl explain how a change of advisor, rejected offers and internal irritations are sidelining the right-back
Sacha Boey hardly plays a sporting role at FC Bayern, but is a topic of conversation off the pitch. As revealed in the podcast, the Frenchman has changed his management – a move that has been carefully noted by FC Bayern. „That’s true,“ confirms Altschäffl. Boey will be advised by Moussa Sissoko, Dayot Upamecano’s agent, in future. What is striking is that the change was not initiated by the player alone
Separation by mutual agreement
According to BILD, the previous management was also not unhappy about the separation. „The old management was a bit annoyed with him,“ reports Altschäffl. The change was more of an agreement than a classic break. Nevertheless, it is clear that a new advisor usually also means setting a new course – both in sporting and economic terms
At FC Bayern, this move came at a sensitive time. Boey is seen internally as a clear candidate for a move, his role in the squad has diminished. All the more reason for those responsible to hope that a solution could be found in the winter
But this is precisely where the problem lies. Boey had concrete options – and said no several times. „That’s true,“ clarifies Christian Falk when it comes to an offer from Olympique Lyon. And it didn’t stop there. „There were also interested parties from the Premier League,“ adds Falk. Olympique Marseille is also said to have enquired
However, Boey’s reaction was clear. „He said no to everything,“ says Altschäffl. The reason for this is obvious from the point of view of the two reporters: the salary. „Because he earns three million in salary,“ explains Altschäffl openly. Offers that did not reflect this sum were apparently not attractive enough for the player
Bayern not amused

This behaviour was anything but well received by FC Bayern. „Bayern didn’t find that amusing,“ says Falk clearly. The club is desperately looking for buyers for Boey in order to regain room for manoeuvre, both in sporting and financial terms. The fact that the player prefers to stay despite his limited playing time is causing a shake of the head internally
Altschäffl puts it drastically: Boey „would rather do his time at Bayern.“ For a professional who is hardly considered in sporting terms and whose standing in the dressing room has suffered anyway, this is a clear signal – but not a positive one
What’s more, Boey has also caused irritation in sporting terms of late. His refusal to come on as a substitute in previous games had already left its mark. Although he has recently been given minutes again, his place in the internal hierarchy remains low
The fact that he has advocates in the team – such as Dayot Upamecano – helps in the short term, but does not change the overall situation. FC Bayern expects a willingness to cooperate in such situations, which Boey has not shown so far.
