It will be a big battle for the French defender, explained Romano in view of the strong competition. Rennes are currently demanding a record transfer fee in the region of 65 to 70 million euros – a sum that would make Jacquet the most expensive departure in the club’s history
Jacquet has been regarded as one of the most exciting defensive talents in Ligue 1 for months. Despite his young age, he is a mainstay at Rennes and has already made 17 competitive appearances this season. His contract runs until 2029, which further strengthens the club’s negotiating position

The name Jacquet has also long been on FC Bayern’s radar. Sky had previously reported that the centre-back was on the Munich club’s list and that sporting director Max Eberl in particular was said to be very interested in the Frenchman. Following the collapse of the deal for Marc Guéhi, who moved to Manchester City, Bayern are continuing to sound out the market intensively. In addition to Jacquet, Nico Schlotterbeck is probably also being monitored further, although no concrete move is currently planned.
