The signs at FC Bayern continue to intensify: Leon Goretzka’s departure is apparently getting closer
According to Sport BILD, Bayern bosses have now clearly signaled to the 30-year-old’s management that they are leaning towards parting ways – even if talks have not yet been finalized
This means that the previously open scenario is increasingly becoming a concrete plan. Although Goretzka has not been publicly written off recently, the strategic decision seems to be becoming increasingly clear internally. His contract expires next summer and an extension is currently no longer the preferred scenario for those in charge
In sporting terms, the development had already become apparent. Goretzka has long since ceased to be a fixture under Vincent Kompany. In the absence of Joshua Kimmich, for example, the Bayern coach deliberately opted for the younger generation with Aleksandar Pavlovic and Tom Bischof in the 8-1 thumping of Wolfsburg
Although Goretzka was able to promote himself once again with a goal and an assist when he came on as a substitute against Wolfsburg, this has clearly done little to change his fundamental role. Internally, he is still considered a candidate to leave in the summer

Goretzka is one of the top earners in the squad, and this budget is to be distributed differently in future – for example, for contract extensions for key players or targeted investments in younger players. The signals to those around him are said to have been correspondingly clear: even if no final decision has yet been made, Bayern are no longer counting on Goretzka beyond the end of the season
A departure in the winter is still out of the question. Bayern want to make use of the international’s experience in the second half of the season, especially in view of the numerous competitions. But everything indicates that they will part ways in the summer.
