Thomas Müller looks back on FC Bayern’s season so far with great enthusiasm – and believes his former club can make it big in the Champions League. The 36-year-old is convinced that Munich can reach the final of the premier class this season
In an interview with BILD, Müller raved about the team’s development under Vincent Kompany and highlighted the team spirit in particular: „FC Bayern played a great first half of the season. The team not only plays spectacular soccer, but also works hard, fights and shows commitment. You can feel the team spirit, they have turned around and won many games after falling behind. It’s fun to watch them. I’ve tried to watch as many games as possible.“
It is precisely this mental aspect that seems to be crucial for Müller. The club legend sees the fact that Bayern have come back from behind several times this season and pulled games back in their favour as a clear sign of maturity and inner strength. For him, this is an important building block on the way to major titles – especially in the Champions League, where nuances often decide between victory and defeat

Müller even goes one step further and dares to make a clear prediction: he firmly believes that FC Bayern will ultimately reach the Champions League final – an assessment that comes from the mouth of a player who has won the competition twice himself and knows what qualities are required at this level
Müller’s close connection to FC Bayern is still palpable, and even though he is currently still under contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, he follows the games of his favorite club closely and with great interest
