Minjae Kim is currently being heavily linked with a premature departure from FC Bayern, but according to the latest reports, the 29-year-old has rejected all winter offers and wants to stay with the German record champions
While Minjae Kim only plays a minor role under Vincent Kompany at FC Bayern, the South Korean international remains in demand on the international transfer market. There have recently been concrete signals from Italy in particular, but a departure in the winter is currently off the table
AC Milan are courting – Kim blocks all offers
According to reports in the Italian media, AC Milan have been looking closely at Minjae Kim. The Rossoneri want to strengthen their defensive center and see the 29-year-old as an ideal solution. A loan with an option to buy in the summer of 2026 has been mooted. Fenerbahçe and other Serie A clubs are also said to have expressed an interest
According to Sky, however, a winter transfer for Kim is out of the question. Although the pay-TV broadcaster confirmed several inquiries ahead of the transfer window, the player himself categorically rejected them. Kim has clearly indicated that he wants to stay at FC Bayern until at least the summer – regardless of his current role in the team
Bayern open to sale – salary a factor

Munich’s stance is interesting: while Kim is not currently considering a departure, Bayern would certainly be willing to talk. Under Kompany, the centre-back no longer plays a major sporting role and , with an estimated annual salary of 15 to 17 million euros, is one of the top earners in the squad
A winter sale would have given the record champions financial leeway, but without the player’s consent, this scenario remains unrealistic. It is therefore clear that Kim wants to hold out at FC Bayern – at least until the summer, when his future at Säbener Straße is likely to come under renewed scrutiny.
