The partial exclusion of the fans will cost FC Bayern spectator revenue in the next home game in the Champions League, but the Munich club is still among the European leaders in the corresponding rankings
Due to the pyro offence committed by Bayern fans against Sporting Lisbon, blocks 111 to 114 of the South Curve will remain closed at the next Champions League home game. Although this will cost the club revenue, figures from a ranking published by Sport BILD prove that FC Bayern remains one of the continent’s absolute heavyweights in terms of spectator revenue
In the evaluation of total revenue per home game, FC Bayern ranks fifth in Europe with €5.7 million. Only Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal and Tottenham are above the Munich club. This confirms that the Allianz Arena has long been one of the biggest revenue machines in world soccer. While other Bundesliga clubs remain below the three million mark, the gap to Bayern’s rivals is enormous. Stuttgart comes in at €2.6 million, Frankfurt and Dortmund only at around €2.2 to 2.3 million. Leipzig is even further behind with €1.7 million. Bayern thus takes in more than twice as much as any other German club and in some cases almost three times as much
FC Bayern earns an average of 76 euros per viewer
The difference is even clearer in the second ranking, which shows the revenue per fan per match. Bayern is in sixth place with 76 euros. Only the absolute global players in the sport are ahead of the record champions: PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham. The gap immediately begins to widen behind Bayern. Stuttgart is well behind with 52 euros, while Eintracht Frankfurt comes in at 40 euros. Borussia Dortmund falls particularly dramatically, coming in last place in this category with just 27 euros per spectator. While BVB regularly attracts over 80,000 fans with its low standing-room prices, Bayern generates almost three times as much per spectator – this is also due to the large number of boxes in the Allianz Arena, where significantly higher prices can be charged

The rankings impressively show how far Bayern is economically from its Bundesliga rivals in terms of spectator revenue. While the partial exclusion of fans in the upcoming home game against Saint-Gilloise will cost revenue in the short term, it will not change the big picture. Bayern remains one of the strongest commercial brands in world soccer and is among the European elite in terms of both total and per capita revenue.
