It hasn’t taken long for Michael Olise to become a cornerstone of FC Bayern’s attack. Since his arrival in the summer of 2024, the 23-year-old has been regarded as one of the most dynamic and creative wingers in the Bundesliga – and as a potential era bearer. His performances have not gone unnoticed internationally. Liverpool FC, in particular, who are in a sporting crisis, were recently considered a serious prospect.
After the Reds initially backed down, BILD’s deputy head of soccer Tobias Altschäffl reveals the surprising turnaround in the transfer show „True or not true“: Olise is back on Liverpool’s list. The club has him as a backup option in case other transfer targets cannot be realized. According to Altschäffl, Kenan Yildiz (Juventus Turin), Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Iliman Ndiaye (Everton) are also on this so-called shadow list alongside Olise.
Liverpool interest? Bayern remain relaxed about Olise

Nevertheless, a possible transfer is not causing any unrest in Munich. As Altschäffl emphasises, Bayern are „very sure that Olise will not leave“. The Frenchman has a long-term contract until 2029 and has no exit clause – an important signal, as his market value of 130 million euros makes him one of the most valuable wingers in Europe.
So why should the record champions let their top summer transfer go? In sporting terms, too, everything fits: Olise delivers consistently, can be deployed flexibly and has integrated excellently despite his reserved public manner. Bayern see no reason to consider a departure.
„He’s a great character in the dressing room“
The big question for many Bayern fans is: can Olise shape a similar era in Munich as Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben once did? Altschäffl puts things in perspective and emphasizes that Olise is more firmly anchored internally than one would assume due to his public reticence. „In the dressing room, he is a super character who is an asset to the team’s cohesion,“ explains the reporter.
However, he believes it is premature to say that he will remain loyal to Bayern for the rest of his life. „I wouldn’t go that far,“ says Altschäffl, adding that Olise still lacks the deeper emotional connection that former club legends only develop over the course of many years. Nevertheless, he can well imagine „that Olise will fulfil his contract and extend it“.
In short: Bayern fans can look forward to the coming years with the Frenchman. Liverpool may continue to show interest – but no matter what the Reds try, the record champions are convinced that Olise will stay and continue his development in Munich.
