Just three days after the intense 3-2 cup win at Union Berlin, FC Bayern have to play away again – and again against an opponent who is likely to demand everything from the Munich team. Aleksandar Pavlovic was a particular focus of attention after the 21-year-old was substituted in the cup with an injury.
Although the youngster himself gave the all-clear after the final whistle, Kompany dampened hopes that he would play against Stuttgart. „But the initial news is good, it could be that he trains again in the next few days. It’s nothing serious, we’ll see if he can play tomorrow,“ explained the Bayern coach at the matchday press conference. A starting appearance seems unlikely – Munich do not want to take any risks with their top talent.
Davies on the verge of a comeback – Musiala won’t be back until 2026

Kompany had much more positive news for Alphonso Davies. The Canadian is about to return to the pitch after tearing his cruciate ligament and is in the final stages of his rehab. „Phonzy is very close, it’s not enough for tomorrow yet, but it will be soon,“ emphasised the coach.
Kompany believes a comeback before the end of the year is absolutely possible. According to Kompany, the full-back could be back in the squad for the German record champions‘ home game against Mainz 05 next week. That would be a massive relief for Bayern, who have had to improvise on the left-hand side recently.
Jamal Musiala, on the other hand, will have to be patient. The attacking star will not get another minute of action this calendar year. Kompany was nevertheless optimistic: „Jamal Musiala is still a little further away, but we’re in good spirits. I hope he trains with us before Christmas. Then 2026 can be a good year for him.“
