FC Bayern lose the Champions League top duel at FC Arsenal. Coach Vincent Kompany’s team loses 3-1 in London. The Bayern stars in the FCBinside individual critique
Manuel Neuer: Looked bad when conceding the goal at 0-1 after a corner and header from close range – once again after a set-piece. After that, he pointed at himself several times, it seemed as if he wanted to take credit for the goal. Neuer deflected a dangerous shot from Saka over the bar immediately after the start of the second half. After another set-piece, Neuer made a good save against Mosquera. He then showed a brilliant act against Rice. In the end, however, he tore everything apart again with his big blunder before the 1:3. That was nothing. Grade: 5

Josip Stanisic: Struggled time and again with Arsenal’s aggressive pressing. Had a good chance after the equalizer, but put the ball flat next to the goal. Stanisic was not convincing on the right side of defence. Grade: 4
Dayot Upamecano: Had a chance to head home from a tight angle after a corner, but his shot was off target. He was unable to get involved in the 1-0 scoreline. The Frenchman made a bad mistake before the 2-1. Poor game from Upamecano. Mark: 5.
Jonathan Tah: Had a lot to do with the strong Arsenal offense, won a few important duels, but couldn’t keep things together at the back in the end. 4
Konrad Laimer: Came on somewhat surprisingly at left-back, but took care of Arsenal star Saka until he was substituted. Laimer was tied down more than usual at the back and was therefore unable to make an offensive impact. In addition, he showed several defensive uncertainties. When he conceded the goal to make it 1-2, he was unable to decisively disrupt Madueke, who scored the goal. Grade: 5

Joshua Kimmich : Returned to the starting line-up after his break against Freiburg. Set up the goal to equalise at 1-1 when he played a wide opening pass out to the left to Gnabry, who then set up Karl for the goal. Overall, however, he did not have his usual control of the center. Kimmich lost the decisive running duel against Martinelli before the 1-3. Mark: 4
Aleksandar Pavlovic: Made an effort, but had little grip on the game and was unable to prevent the defeat. Mark: 4
Lennart Karl: How cool can you be at 17? When Bayern had completely lost the plot after going 1-0 down, the youngster brought his team back into the game with his goal to make it 1-1. Karl often showed flashes of his fine technique, but also fought at the back. At the start of the second half, he failed to beat Arsenal keeper Raya with his shot after a great run. Karl played well, he can’t be blamed for the defeat. Grade: 2

Michael Olise: Couldn’t shine as much as usual in his old home of London and didn’t get into any dangerous scenes. Was pretty much left out by Arsenal. Below-average game from Olise. Mark: 4
Serge Gnabry : Played a big part in the 1:1 equalizer: Technically very strong when he passed the long ball from Kimmich to the goalscorer Karl. But didn’t have many scenes after that and found it difficult against the Gunners‘ defence. Grade: 3
Harry Kane: Completely outclassed by Arsenal and never made an impact. His Tottenham past meant he was booed by the Arsenal fans every time he touched the ball. There was constant jeering against the England captain once the defeat was confirmed. Mark: 5
Substitute
Tom Bischof (72nd for Laimer): Couldn’t do anything about the defeat after coming on as a substitute. mark: 4
Nicolas Jackson (72nd for Gnabry): No longer a threat after coming on. 4
Raphael Guerreiro (81st for Karl): Came on too late to score
Leon Goretzka (81st for Kimmich): Came on too late to score
Minaje Kim (81st for Upamecano): Came on too late to score
