Harry Kane is more than just a goal machine. The English superstar has developed into an indispensable part of the Bayern attack – and is now receiving the highest praise from the honorary president. Uli Hoeneß emphasizes the extraordinary importance the 32-year-old has long held for the German record champions.
Since his arrival in the summer of 2023, Kane has dominated the Bundesliga at will. His record is historic, his consistency impressive: 75 goals in 73 league games – a rate that is well above average even by Bavarian standards. But in Munich, they are convinced that Kane is now more than just a classic goalscorer. Rather, he has reached a new level that has fundamentally changed his role in Vincent Kompany’s team.
What has been foreshadowed for months has been confirmed more and more clearly this season: Harry Kane has not only developed further, but has almost transformed his game. The Bayern star is more variable, drops into midfield more often, initiates attacks and cleverly sets up his teammates. Kane is both a playmaker and an enforcer – a rare combination at the highest level.
From goal scorer to complete offensive boss

At an event at the Bayern Museum, the club patron described in detail how much Kane has developed since his move from the Premier League. „What Harry Kane has been producing here for a year or two is top class,“ explained Hoeneß – using words that he only uses for truly exceptional players.
The honorary president was particularly impressed by the transformation of the England international striker: „In the beginning, he was a goal scorer who played in his box, who waited for the balls to come in. But today he has long since become a playmaker, he is an enforcer and, above all, he is a player personality who carries the others along on the pitch, who sets the direction.“
This development was expressly desired at FC Bayern. Kane was not only supposed to deliver goals, but also give structure, quality and leadership to the attacking play. He is now doing just that – and at a level that impresses even experienced Bayern greats.
The fact that Hoeneß explicitly emphasizes this development shows once again what expectations the club had of its superstar – and how much Kane even exceeds these expectations.
