Bayern star Michael Olise is apparently a desired player at Liverpool FC. Would a departure from Munich to the Premier League be realistic?
Liverpool FC are currently examining all their options for the time after Mohamed Salah – and one name keeps coming up: Michael Olise. The 23-year-old is playing an outstanding season at FC Bayern and is considered one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe.
But how realistic is Olise’s move to Liverpool? According to transfer insider Dean Jones: practically out of the question.
He said of Olise: „He’s not a very realistic target, I don’t think Bayern would sell him. The only possibility would be if Olise was unhappy and pushing for a move, but I don’t think that’s the case.“
Liverpool are indeed working internally on an XXL project. The Reds want to prepare the transition early and are planning for the long term without Salah. Olise is considered to be an absolute dream player. Performance, age, style of play – everything fits for the club from Anfield Road.
English media are even speculating about a possible offer of up to 200 million euros – a package that would shatter all Liverpool records and be one of the most expensive transfers in soccer history.
Nevertheless, the starting position is clear: FC Bayern does not want to sell Olise. The French international has developed into a key player in a very short space of time, shapes the attacking play under Vincent Kompany like no other and is one of the faces of the sporting future.
FC Bayern backs Michael Olise
Internally, Munich have set a clear line: Olise is too important strategically, too dominant athletically and too valuable in terms of character. His development, his charisma and his efficiency make him a player that cannot be replaced – and would not want to be replaced.
What’s more, Olise feels at home in Munich. The star winger has arrived, has a stable environment, is a top performer and a crowd favourite. A dissatisfied player who is pushing for a change? Exactly the opposite is the case.
In the Bundesliga, however, there are limits that do not exist in England. Offers beyond the 150 million mark force even FC Bayern to at least talk about it internally. This is exactly what Liverpool are counting on – the one moment when the financial package is so large that it triggers discussions.
But as things stand at the moment, the lines are clear: Bayern want to keep Olise and Olise wants to stay. A move to Liverpool is an unrealistic scenario.
