Following the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the new head coach, Bayern can now go full throttle with a view to transfer planning in the summer. According to sporting director Max Eberl, Munich have already worked intensively on reorganising the squad in recent weeks.

FC Bayern have been linked with numerous players in recent weeks. Those responsible in Munich have made no secret of the fact that they want to change the squad in the summer.

In addition to new additions, it is highly likely that there will also be one or two departures. Max Eberl commented as follows on Thursday: „What is a radical change? There are no cut lists. There are players who will have a harder time in the future – that’s only fair. Of course there are players who might find it more difficult in the future, but that’s normal in competitive sport,“ explained the 50-year-old during the official presentation of Vincent Kompany on Thursday,

„We’ve already taken a few steps in terms of squad planning“

Interestingly, even though Bayern didn’t have a new coach until recently, Eberl & Co. have already been working hard on the new squad in the background: „We’ve talked intensively about the squad and players. Christoph and I have not only driven forward the search for a coach, but also the squad planning. We’ve already taken a few steps in terms of squad planning. We’re further along than you might think“.

According to Eberl, Kompany was immediately included in the squad planning. However, the Belgian himself did not want to comment on this in detail at his inaugural press conference: „We will discuss internally what the squad needs.

Kompany already knows one FCB player, Leroy Sane, very well. The two played together at Manchester City. However, the DFB star does not enjoy a bonus as a result, as the 38-year-old made clear: „He is a very talented player. My job is to get the best out of Leroy – and every player. I won’t make any distinctions.“
