Yusuf Kabadayi was loaned to Schalke 04 by FC Bayern at the start of the season. After the end of the season, the Gelsenkirchen club has now decided not to exercise the purchase option for the youngster. The attacking jewel will therefore return to Säbener Straße in the near future.
Those responsible at Schalke announced today that Kabadayi will not be retained beyond the summer. „We would like to thank Yusuf and Darko Churlinov for their time and commitment to S04. We wish them all the best for their sporting and personal futures,“ said Marc Wilmots about the two departures.
According to reports, the decision not to sign Kabadayi permanently was not due to his performances, but rather the fixed purchase option was too high for the financially troubled Schalke. The attacking jewel is therefore returning to Munich.
Kabadayi was given a professional contract before his loan at Bayern. The 20-year-old had a very difficult time at times with the miners, but was able to show his talent time and again. In the important win against eventual champions St. Pauli (3:1), the youngster became the man of the match with a brace. In the final phase of the season, the attacking talent became increasingly important for the relegation-threatened Schalke and contributed four goals to the team’s survival.
What’s next for Kabadayi?
The German international made a total of 24 appearances for the Royal Blues. Kabadayi’s commitment has made him increasingly dear to S04 fans, with many Schalke fans mourning the youngster’s departure on social media. The 20-year-old bid an emotional farewell to the fans in his Instagram story. There he commented on the announcement of his departure with „A lifetime“ and two blue and white hearts.
It is still unclear what will happen with Kabadayi. Whether it comes to another loan or a sale probably depends on the new FCB coach Vincent Kompany. At Schalke, the youngster showed at least in phases that he has the potential to prove himself in Munich.

Da wäre eigentlich was frei.
Sehr aktiv nach vorne. Aber nicht so unbeschwert wie Quedraogo. Für den FCB vermutlich zu unkonstant. Defensiv zwar nicht der stärkste aber stets bemüht…
Hätte den trotzdem weiterhin sehr gerne bei uns gehabt

Für diese Jungs (leihspieler) auf die fer fcb in der nächsten Saison Zugriff hat,wäre vlt ein kurzes Traingslager während oder noch vor der EM angebracht.
Damit Kompany sich gleich selbst ein Bild von den Jungs machen kann um dann zu entscheiden Verkauf, nochmalige Leihe oder direkt in 1. Mannschaft integrieren
Dan hat man auch noch genug Zeit vernünftige Leihpartner zu finden
Regensburg jetzt als 2. Ligist wäre vermutlich auch dankbarer Partner
