Vincent Kompany and the Bayern bosses are in agreement: in order to be successful in the coming season, a fundamental change in the squad is needed. It has now been revealed exactly who could be affected by the reorganisation.

Vincent Kompany, who is to be unveiled as FC Bayern’s new coach in the next few days, is said to have already had several discussions with his new bosses, sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund, about restructuring the squad. According to information from BILD, some top earners could leave the club in the summer as a result.

The most likely candidate to leave is Alphonso Davies, who is said to be demanding a salary that is too high for those in charge at Säbener Straße in the event of an extension. His contract only runs until 2025, which means that this summer is the last chance to sell him for a significant transfer fee.

Also high up on the payroll is Joshua Kimmich, who is also only tied to the German record champions until the end of the coming season. In addition to him, Dayot Upamecano, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry are no longer unsellable. Kingsley Coman is also said to be not averse to a move. However, talks have not yet taken place with any of the players.

Bayern planning new arrivals in five positions

In order to compensate for the many possible departures or, at best, to fill them with stronger players, FC Bayern is planning to bring in new personnel in five positions. Firstly, according to kicker, the long-awaited holding six is to be filled. In addition, the bosses want to find a replacement for the departing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in order to have a backup for star striker Harry Kane in the squad.

With at least one winger seemingly set to leave FCB, the club are also looking for at least one, if not two, new players in this position. If left-back Alphonso Davies is indeed sold, a replacement would also be needed for him. According to rumours, this could be Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.

Otherwise, Munich could sign another centre-back, for example Jonathan Tah. However, this would only happen if one of the current centre-backs leaves the club.
