In addition to the coaching issue, FC Bayern are also facing the question of the announced squad shake-up in the summer transfer period. Winger Chris Führich from VfB Stuttgart could be part of it.
After an impressive season in which Führich played a key role in VfB Stuttgart’s strong performance, the signs are pointing to change. The German international, who has scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 38 competitive matches to date, has attracted interest from several top clubs. Despite offers from England and this year’s Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, Führich is rumoured to be leaning towards a move to Munich.
According to kicker, the Stuttgart player, whose contract runs until 2028, will be available for a fixed transfer fee of between 25 and 30 million euros in the upcoming transfer windows. This could make him a relatively inexpensive reinforcement for the German record champions. Particularly in view of the unclear future of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, a Führich transfer to Munich could make sense.
Führich with a Ruhrpott past
The first rumours about Bayern’s potential interest in the 26-year-old emerged at the end of March. His market value is currently estimated at around 25 million euros. The winger played for Schalke 04, VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund as a youth player. After failing to make the leap to the professional ranks with Dortmund’s second team, he moved to SC Paderborn in the second division. He made his breakthrough there and moved to Stuttgart in 2021.

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth commented on the Bayern rumours in April: „I’m not surprised that our players are also of interest to top clubs with their record this season. But in the case of Führich, neither the player nor any other club has contacted me.“ In the meantime, it seems possible that Bayern have contacted Stuttgart.
