In FC Bayern’s search for a new coach, Vincent Kompany is probably the top candidate at the moment. However, Bayern have apparently also gathered information about Mauricio Pochettino.
FC Bayern’s search for a new coach is likely to continue in the direction of the Premier League. Vincent Kompany from Burnley FC is currently considered the top candidate, but according to information from Sky, those responsible have also gathered information about Mauricio Pochettino’s situation in recent days.
It has been known since Tuesday that the Argentinian will no longer coach Chelsea FC next season. According to a statement from the club, it is an amicable separation between the club and the 52-year-old coach. Pochettino finished sixth in the final Premier League table with the Blues and at least managed to qualify for the Europa League.
According to Sky, his name was also on the list of Premier League coaches Bayern were considering. According to the report, there had been no direct contact between Bayern and Pochettino until yesterday.
Freund and Eberl probably fixated on Kompany
Pochettino took over Chelsea FC last season. Prior to that, he coached Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, among others – at the time with current Bayern stars Harry Kane and Eric Dier.
Bayern’s most concrete candidate, however, is Kompany, according to the report. According to the report, talks with him are currently underway, which are concrete and positive. Sports director Max Eberl and sports director Christoph Freund are currently focussed on the 38-year-old Belgian.
Kompany is currently still under contract with Burnley FC. Kompany has just been relegated from the Premier League with the club, having previously led the club to promotion as coach.
