The Bayern season has come to an end and now the squad planning is being driven forward at full speed by the sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund. FC Bayern are said to be keeping an eye on a centre-back from Red Bull Salzburg.
According to fussballtransfers.com, the German record champions have defender Oumar Solet from Red Bull Salzburg on their radar.
However, Munich are not the only club to have their eye on the 24-year-old, with VfL Wolfsburg also being linked with the 1.92 metre tall Frenchman. AS Roma and Premier League club West Ham United are apparently also interested. Inter Milan were already in negotiations, but were unable to reach an agreement.
Solet was already flirting with a move to the Bundesliga last year, and he would also like to move to Germany for the coming season. As his contract at Salzburg expires in 2025, the club is looking into selling him.
Bayern not satisfied with defence
Munich have been unable to rest their defence in recent years, despite investing a lot of money. Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano, Minjae Kim and Eric Dier have not all been able to perform consistently.
According to the Munich newspaper tz, the Bayern bosses are actually prepared to sell one of their centre-backs. With the transfer fee realised and the space available, those responsible want to fill the vacant position with Leverkusen player Jonathan Tah.
