Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala have been playing in pain for FC Bayern for some time now. The two will probably be given a break for the home game against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.
Coach Thomas Tuchel will probably be without Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala for FC Bayern’s match against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday. According to the Münchner Abendzeitung, it is likely that both internationals will be given a break.
Both players would definitely benefit from a break before the European Championship. Sané has been struggling with pubic bone pain for weeks and has had to take several breaks in the Bundesliga to be fit for the big games in the Champions League. But after the 2:1 defeat in the semi-final second leg at Real Madrid, the premier class is over for Bayern.
DFB team needs Sané and Musiala
Musiala is suffering from knee problems. He reported this after the game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday: „I felt my knee again and was a bit worried that it would get worse,“ Musiala explained about his substitution in the closing stages.
The attacking star is starting to get fed up with the recurring pain: „I want it to finally go away now. Because I’ve been playing with painkillers for months and I’m being injected to get fit,“ said the 21-year-old.
Musiala has already hinted that he wants to take it easy for now: „It just needs a bit of time. I just need to do nothing. We’ve had such big games now, there’s been no time to take it easy so that it really goes away. Now I have a bit of time until the European Championships to really get rid of it.“
For national coach Julian Nagelsmann, both Sané and Musiala could be key players at the upcoming European Championship in their own country.
