Bayern left-back Alphonso Davies is still the subject of transfer rumours. Although his name is frequently linked with Real Madrid, sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed that no concrete offers have been received to date. It remains to be seen what will happen with the Canadian in the summer.
„No,“ Freund replied to the direct question of whether there had been an enquiry from Real Madrid for Davies. He added that there are „of course talks“ with Davies about his future, but that there are „no indications yet“ as to whether he will extend his contract in Munich or leave the club.
Munich would like to extend their contract with the pacy full-back, but not at any price. It was recently rumoured that Davies‘ salary demands are too high for those responsible at the German record champions.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also made it clear that there was „zero dialogue“ regarding Davies at the lunch with the Real Madrid management team.
Davies now only part-time at Bayern
Reports have recently been doing the rounds in Spain that interest from the Whites has cooled considerably. One of the reasons for this is the 23-year-old’s fluctuating performances.
The uncertainty surrounding his future does not seem to have left Davies cold. Despite his obvious talent and former dominance on the left wing, his playing time has been limited in recent weeks. In the Champions League semi-final against the Whites, he was only substituted for Leroy Sané in the 87th minute. In the current season, the Canadian has made 38 appearances for Munich. He has scored one goal and set up a further five.
