Leroy Sané was instrumental in the 2-2 draw against Real Madrid with a dream goal. The 28-year-old winger was one of FCB’s best players. President Herbert Hainer has now made it clear that Munich are keen to extend the DFB international’s contract when it expires.
Sané ended his goal drought against Real Madrid, which began in October 2023. The winger scored the all-important 1:1 with his remarkable solo move and a powerful finish to start Munich’s comeback.
It is precisely this individual ability to decide a game with his individual actions that FC Bayern wants to extend the Bayern star’s long-term contract, as Bayern President Herbert Hainer has made clear: „He is a striker who can make the difference thanks to his skills, speed and shooting ability. And of course we want him to stay with us – there’s no question about it,“ he emphasised.
Concrete talks are planned
Despite the lack of continuity in his performances, Bayern want to extend Sané’s contract, which expires in 2025. According to Sky, concrete contract negotiations with Sané’s management are due to take place in the coming weeks. The 28-year-old himself not only feels at home at the club, but also in Munich and is open to extending his contract. The Bayern attacker also feels the support of those responsible at Bayern.
Sky has learnt that an extension is even possible before the upcoming European Championships in the summer. According to the report, a secret meeting between sporting director Max Eberl and Sané took place recently.
