In recent months, FC Bayern’s Alphonso Davies has been repeatedly linked with Real Madrid. Bayern boss Max Eberl gives an update after the game against the Whites.
Is Alphonso Davies moving from FC Bayern to Real Madrid? The left-back’s contract with Bayern runs until 2025 and he has been repeatedly linked with the Spanish club. In the semi-final first leg against the Whites, Davies was only substituted in the 87th minute. So the 23-year-old didn’t really have time to convince those responsible at his supposed dream club.
After the game, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl was asked about the current situation regarding Davies. Are there any offers for him? Or at least enquiries? Eberl’s short answer: „No, nothing at all.“
Normally, the managers of the opposing clubs come together during a Champions League match – for example over a meal together. It therefore seems reasonable to assume that the Real and Bayern bosses could also talk about Davies. But perhaps that won’t happen until the second leg next week in Madrid.
Has Real’s interest cooled?
However, there have also been reports recently that Real’s interest in Davies has cooled. Which wouldn’t be surprising given his recent often unconvincing performances in a Bayern shirt.
However, the fact that Real have not yet made an offer could just be a negotiating tactic. Madrid are of course aware that, with a little patience, they could wait until 2025 to sign Davies on a free transfer. Just like David Alaba once did. If Bayern want to prevent that, they might have to settle for a lower transfer fee than Real would like.
So even if there is currently still radio silence: The Davies poker could pick up even more speed in the near future.
