DFB international Jonathan Tah is currently being heavily linked with a move to FC Bayern. The 28-year-old has now commented on his sporting future and makes no secret of the fact that he is flattered by the interest from Munich.
Even though FC Bayern has an excellent defensive centre with players such as Matthijs de Ligt, Minjae Kim, Dayot Upamecano and Eric Dier, the club at Säbener Straße certainly seems to be thinking about personnel changes in the summer. One name currently being bandied about at FCB is Jonathan Tah from German champions Bayer Leverkusen. The 28-year-old is said to be at the top of Munich’s wish list.
Tah has now commented on the ongoing rumours himself for the first time: „You’re happy when you’re linked with a club like that,“ he explained in an interview with Sport BILD. However, the defender left open what will happen to him after the European Championship: „Now I’m concentrating on the two titles we can still win. I’m in good contact with Simon Rolfes and Fernando Carro. We’ll see about everything else after the end of the season – just like Simon said.“
Bayern have received positive signals from Tah
As reported by Sky, Bayern have already received a signal from the player that Tah would definitely be open to a move to Munich. However, there is still no agreement with the player and no talks with Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer boss Carro has recently emphasised that they would like to extend Tah’s contract, but if this is not possible, they are looking to sell him in the summer. The reason: The DFB star’s contract expires in 2025. Leverkusen are keen to prevent him leaving on a free transfer.
According to Sky, Bayer’s asking price is just under €20 million including bonus payments. In addition to Bayern, Premier League clubs are also interested in Tah
