Is a spectacular player transfer between FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen on the cards? According to the latest reports, Munich are looking at signing DFB star Jonathan Tah. The Werkself, on the other hand, would like to keep FCB loanee Josip Stanisic on a long-term basis.

Sky and BILD are both reporting that Bayern are interested in Jonathan Tah. According to the reports, Munich are already in talks with the 28-year-old’s management.

According to BILD, however, Bayern want to sell a centre-back first before bringing in a new player for the centre of defence. Recently, there have been more and more reports that Dayot Upamecano and Minjae Kim are being considered as candidates for the Isar.

Leverkusen demand more than 40 million euros for Tah

Leverkusen do not want to know anything about Tah leaving in the summer, especially not to a direct competitor. Xabi Alonso does not want to lose his key player. The problem is that the German international’s contract expires in 2025. Tah himself is also said to be open to a move to a top European club and sees it as the next step in his career.

Should the defender turn down a contract extension with the German champions, Leverkusen would only be willing to discuss a deal worth over €40 million, according to BILD. A lot of money for a player whose market value is estimated at 30 million euros and who will be available on a free transfer in just under 12 months.

Interestingly, according to BILD, Bayern could significantly improve their chances in the Tah poker. To do so, however, they would have to integrate Josip Stanisic into a potential Tah deal. The Croatian is currently on loan at Leverkusen and, as things stand today, will return to the Isar in the summer. Bayer would like to sign the 24-year-old permanently.
