Is the departure of attacker Serge Gnabry from FC Bayern in the offing? According to English media reports, Premier League top club Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the German international. After a difficult season, Gnabry is likely to have second thoughts about his future.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Bayern’s Serge Gnabry. According to the British portal „Football Insider„, the German record champions are willing to talk about letting the winger go early. Gnabry’s contract at Säbener Straße actually runs until the summer of 2026.

As Gnabry can be deployed in various attacking positions, he could be an ideal fit for Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou’s tactical scheme. He has had an extremely difficult season at Bayern so far and has also been hampered by injuries. As a result, he has only made nine Bundesliga appearances (3 goals, 1 assist). In total, he has appeared in 235 competitive matches for Bayern since 2017, scoring 86 goals and setting up 52 assists.

Spurs fans have bad memories of Gnabry

Serge Gnabry probably played his greatest game on 1 October 2019 away at Tottenham, of all clubs. In Bayern’s group game in the Champions League, the attacker scored four times and set up a further goal in a 7-2 victory. Gnabry trained at local rivals Arsenal and turned professional. He later went on loan to Bremen and Hoffenheim before finally joining Bayern.

However, it remains unclear whether Tottenham will actually make a serious bid for Gnabry. According to media reports, they are also interested in Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, who has been on Tottenham’s radar for two years.

At Tottenham Hotspur, Gnabry could also meet Timo Werner, who is currently on loan from RB Leipzig but would like to stay in London. The German international has made 13 appearances since his winter transfer, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Like Werner, Gnabry currently has little chance of making it to the upcoming European Championship in Germany.
