The likelihood that Julian Nagelsmann will become coach of the record champions again just one and a half years after his dismissal from FC Bayern has recently increased. But the German Football Association would also like to extend the 36-year-old’s contract beyond the upcoming European Championships. It has now become known what arguments Bayern are using to convince Nagelsmann to return.

The ex-Bayern coach apparently complained several times to former club bosses Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic before his dismissal that the team was not implementing his tactical instructions on the pitch, as reported by BILD. This was also one of the reasons for his dismissal at the time.

Nevertheless, according to Sport BILD, current sporting director Max Eberl is said to be convinced that Nagelsmann is the right man for the coaching job and is seen as the driving force behind a return. Accordingly, Eberl believes that the current national coach can get the squad under control and form a unit.

Concrete talks between Bayern and the Nagelsmann side have probably already taken place. According to the report, the team is to be organised in such a way that the 36-year-old can better implement his idea of football in reality. Apparently Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry, who have also been sidelined in the national team under Nagelsmann, do not play a role in these plans.

Bayern watch out: The DFB is also putting pressure on them

However, it is not yet clear whether the coach will decide in favour of the record champions once again. The DFB is also putting pressure on him: A meeting between the DFB and Nagelsmann is to take place in the next few days to discuss further co-operation.

The 36-year-old has probably not yet decided whether he wants to return to the club level. However, should this come to pass, FC Bayern would be the first port of call.
