The search for a coach at FC Bayern is entering the hot phase. Those responsible in Munich want to find a successor to Thomas Tuchel as soon as possible, ideally in April. According to consistent media reports, everything currently points to a comeback for Julian Nagelsmann at the German record champions. Accordingly, Max Eberl & Co. are going full throttle in terms of bringing him back.

Last weekend, reports made the rounds that Bayern were (once again) endeavouring to sign Zinedine Zidane. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, FCB have contacted the Frenchman’s management. As Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, there is no truth to the reports from Spain. Bayern are currently focussing on bringing back Julian Nagelsmann.

According to the pay-TV broadcaster, there have been concrete negotiations between Nagelsmann and Bayern in recent days. Sporting director Max Eberl has driven these forward and has been in active dialogue with the 36-year-old’s advisor. According to this, talks are already well advanced. Nagelsmann can look forward to a 3-4 year contract in Munich.

Nagelsmann has not yet made a commitment to Bayern

According to Plettenberg, Nagelsmann is basically open to a return to the German record champions, but the current national coach has not yet made a final commitment to Bayern. There are still some details that need to be clarified.

It is interesting to note that, according to Sky, Nagelsmann is Munich’s absolute favourite candidate following the rejection of Xabi Alonso. Not only is Eberl convinced of a comeback, the entire management team is now said to be in favour of the idea.

In addition to Bayern, the German Football Association is also currently courting Nagelsmann. The DFB would like to tie him down until the 2026 World Cup. His current contract expires after the European Championships.
