Uncertain future in Munich: Top club asks Bayern about Kimmich

It is still unclear whether Joshua Kimmich will remain an FC Bayern player beyond the summer. There are already well-known interested parties, and now an absolute top club has enquired about him.

As the British portal Football Transfers reports, Arsenal FC have expressed their interest in Joshua Kimmich. However, Munich are not (yet) willing to talk about this. The Gunners have reportedly been told that no talks about a move for the 29-year-old are possible until the end of the season.

However, according to the report, Kimmich is a concrete transfer target in the summer and Arsenal’s interest in the German international is expected to increase after the end of the season. What plays into the Londoners‘ hands is the fact that Kimmich is only tied to FCB until 2025. If a contract extension fails to materialise, the upcoming transfer window would be the last chance to generate a reasonable transfer fee.

Not only Arsenal are interested in Kimmich

Arsenal’s two biggest Premier League rivals are also showing interest in signing Kimmich: Liverpool FC and Manchester City. As English journalist Dean Jones recently reported, Kimmich is leaning towards a move to the Sky Blues. The main reason for this is the coaching situation. In Pep Guardiola, he would be meeting an old acquaintance at City, who is regarded as a supporter of the Bayern centre-back.
