Will Leroy Sané stay at FC Bayern? The German international’s contract expires in the summer of 2025. Now there could be movement on a possible extension. Uli Hoeneß could play a decisive role in this.
Uli Hoeneß could become an important factor in Leroy Sané’s decision regarding his future at FC Bayern. According to kicker, the honorary president is one reason why Sané can well imagine extending his contract with the German record champions beyond 2025. Sané maintains a good relationship with Hoeneß, has already visited the club patron at home on Lake Tegernsee and occasionally seeks feedback from the 72-year-old.
Sané himself reported on his special relationship with Hoeneß back in December. In an interview with Sport BILD, he said: „The word of Uli Hoeneß carries a lot of weight. That’s why I listen very carefully when he tells me something.“
He sometimes receives objective criticism from Hoeneß, but also congratulations after good performances. Sané comments: „I’m extremely pleased to hear something like that from him. After all, it’s Uli Hoeneß! He practically built the club. I really appreciate the dialogue with him and am grateful for his help and advice.“
First meeting between Sané and Eberl
According to the latest kicker report, Bayern remain Sané’s first point of contact when it comes to his future. There has already been an initial meeting with the new FCB sporting director Max Eberl. Talks are to be intensified in the coming weeks.
Which could also speak in favour of him staying: He feels at home in the Munich suburb of Grünwald, where Sané lives with his wife and children. He also has a good relationship with players such as Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala in the team.
The dialogue with coach Thomas Tuchel is also very positive – but this will no longer have any influence on Sané’s future decision, as Tuchel will leave the club after the current season.
