Serhou Guirassy is the second-best goalscorer in the Bundesliga after Harry Kane and FC Bayern could sign him in the summer for a comparatively favourable transfer fee. However, Munich are apparently backing away from a Guirassy transfer.
Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has recently been linked with FC Bayern on several occasions. The 28-year-old can probably leave VfB in the summer for around €20 million due to a release clause. At first glance, that’s not a lot of money for the Bundesliga’s current second-best goalscorer. At the moment, Guirassy is only behind Bayern’s top scorer Harry Kane, who has 31 goals to his name, with 22 goals.
According to Sky, however, FCB’s interest in Guirassy has cooled. Overall, signing the striker would be a very expensive package despite the low transfer fee. Guirassy would require a long-term contract, plus a signing fee, a consultant’s commission and a generous salary. This package could cost Bayern between 70 and 80 million in total.
Bayern want to give Mathys Tel more playing time
Another reason why FCB are refraining from a Guirassy deal, according to Sky: Bayern want to give Mathys Tel more playing time next season. It is therefore not even certain whether Bayern will bring in a new striker at all if Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting leaves. Choupo-Moting’s contract expires in the summer and will not be extended – unless the future Bayern coach is determined to keep him.
According to the report, Guirassy himself could very well be happy to move to FC Bayern in the summer, but not in Choupo-Moting’s role as a substitute striker. If he comes to Munich, he also wants to play. Bayern would therefore need a coach who could envisage playing with a double centre-forward, as Harry Kane will be a permanent fixture in the Bayern attack.
