After FC Bayern’s 5-2 win in Darmstadt, captain Manuel Neuer praises the best man on the pitch: Jamal Musiala. But the goalkeeper is annoyed about the goals conceded.
After FC Bayern’s win at Darmstadt 98, Manuel Neuer was full of praise for match-winner Jamal Musiala, who scored two goals himself and set up one goal.
„We had difference players on the pitch, for example Jamal,“ enthused Neuer on Sky: „He’s simply difficult to stop. Even in the box, although Darmstadt defended with many legs in the penalty area.“
Neuer also liked the Bayern team’s reaction to the 1-0 deficit: „We kept to our style of play, even after we were behind,“ analysed the national keeper: „We created scoring chances and made the most of them.“
Neuer: „We simply conceded too many goals“
What Neuer didn’t like at all, however, was the number of goals conceded. The 37-year-old criticised: „That’s far too many. We need to talk about that and analyse it. That’s simply too many goals conceded for us.“
Neuer became a father for the first time last week. He said: „You can’t compare that with sport, so it’s the greatest happiness in my private life.“
When asked whether he is now extra motivated because of this, Neuer replied dryly: „I’m always motivated, I think you know that about me. I always want to win and that’s why I’m also happy about the win today.“
