Ahead of Munich’s upcoming league match at Darmstadt on Saturday, head coach Thomas Tuchel called for an impressive performance from his winger Leroy Sané at the pre-match press conference.
„He has to deliver tomorrow, otherwise he’ll have to train every day. My favourite thing is that he plays and plays and plays. We have to bridge it well for him, he will be here and train, treat the aches and pains,“ said Thomas Tuchel at the press conference ahead of the away game at Darmstadt 98 on Saturday.
Tuchel had recently revealed that Sané has been struggling with a number of injuries that have also affected him this season.

„But tomorrow he has to deliver, that’s where all the focus is,“ added the 50-year-old.
The 28-year-old, who has made 24 appearances in the current Bundesliga season, scoring eight goals and assisting a further 11, will be aiming for a good performance in Darmstadt anyway. On 28 October, Sané scored twice in the home game against Darmstadt and also contributed an assist in Munich’s 8-0 win.
However, Sané’s performances in the second half of the season also make it clear that he is struggling with fluctuations in performance. Since matchday 18, Sané has only one assist to his name from the Gladbach game. The winger has yet to score a goal in the second half of the league season.
Tuchel, meanwhile, is convinced that his team will play with the right attitude against the league’s bottom club. „We have everything to lose, Darmstadt have everything to gain,“ said the head coach, describing the starting position ahead of the matchday.
