Is Borussia Dortmund snatching an attacking player from under Bayern’s nose? As reported by Sky, BVB are interested in a Bundesliga player who is attracting attention with his good performances this season.
Bayern’s reorganisation has been announced and, as a result, it does not seem clear whether Serge Gnabry and/or Leroy Sané will have a future at the German record champions.
In this regard, FC Bayern’s interest in Chris Führich had already been reported, who could at least replace one of the aforementioned wingers in the event of his departure. However, according to Sky, the German record champions have now received prominent competition, as BVB have been added as another serious interested party.
Führich for the offence? BVB interested
The 26-year-old’s qualities lie particularly in one-on-one play, something that is said to be highly valued in Dortmund. After all, Sebastian Kehl and Co. also want to initiate a change in this area in the coming season.
Führich could fit the profile well. The fact that the winger, who can also be deployed as a hanging centre forward, recently extended his contract with VfB until 2028 need not be an obstacle, as Führich is reportedly available for a fixed exit clause of 20 million euros.
Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig also have Führich on their radar. Schalke, Dortmund, Bochum, Cologne, Oberhausen and Paderborn have all been footballing stops in the player’s career, which has really taken off since his move to VfB in July 2021.
It therefore comes as no surprise that Bayern have enquired about the international’s terms. However, FCB’s interest in Führich (25 appearances in the Bundesliga, 8 goals, 7 assists) is not said to be particularly keen at present.
