Leroy Sané is one of the FC Bayern players whose contract expires in 2025. Head of Sport Max Eberl now talks about the German record champions‘ plans for the international.
Max Eberl has to plan FC Bayern’s squad for the new season. One of the most interesting questions will be whether Leroy Sané will remain in Munich or whether those responsible will consider selling him. The 28-year-old’s contract with FCB expires in 2025. If they don’t want to run the risk of losing him on a free transfer after the coming season, they would have to act in the summer.
However, Bayern’s new sporting director Eberl made it clear in kicker that the personnel issue is still not expected to be clarified in the near future.
The order at Bayern is fixed: First a new coach is to be found, only then will the future of the players be considered.
„Leroy also wants to know who the coach will be next season,“ Eberl said in kicker.
Sané himself is in no hurry
The contracts of two other Bayern stars expire in the summer of 2025: Those of Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies. These two stars have also been the subject of repeated speculation recently. Davies is rumoured to be on the verge of a move to Real Madrid, while clubs such as FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool FC and FC Arsenal are interested in Kimmich.
It remains to be seen how Sané plans his own future. Leroy Sané is said to have been less than enthusiastic about Munich parting ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.
The German international has had his strongest season in a Bayern shirt under Tuchel and is an undisputed regular. He has already featured in 35 competitive matches.
Sané is clearly in no hurry to clarify his future. He recently stated that he would like to wait for the European Championships before making a decision on his future.
