In the course of the expected sporting upheaval at Bayern next summer, new sporting director Max Eberl is focussing on the promotion and long-term retention of young talent. The focus is on a number of players who are already at the German record champions in Munich.
The recent early contract extension of Mathys Tel until 2029 is seen as an important milestone for Max Eberl’s plan to shape the future axis of the team: „He is an important building block for the future of this team, with him we already have the next generation of FC Bayern in our squad,“ explained the sporting director this week.
Alongside Tel, Jamal Musiala is also at the centre of Eberl’s plans. Although concrete negotiations regarding an extension are still pending, Bayern’s declared aim is to tie Musiala to the club for the long term.
Stanisic and Pavlovic also play a key role
According to Münchner tz, Josip Stanisic and Aleksandar Pavlovic will complete the future centre-back pairing. Right-back Stanisic will return to Munich in the summer after his loan spell at Leverkusen.
The central midfielder Pavlovic is already impressing at FC Bayern this season. He is regarded as one of the few bright spots in the record champions‘ poor season so far. Both players could be key players in the new Bayern team in the coming season.
In order to get the team on track, Eberl rel ies on clear announcements and the development of a strong team structure. In his role as sporting director, Eberl is holding intensive one-to-one discussions with the players in order to revitalise the famous ‚Mia san mia‘ feeling. He wants to encourage the players to fully identify with the club and its values in order to build a strong backbone for the future of FC Bayern.
