Will FC Bayern snap up one of the biggest talents in German football? Schalke 04’s Assan Ouedraogo is apparently leaning towards accepting the Munich club’s offer.
FC Bayern are apparently making progress in talks with top talent Assan Ouedraogo of Schalke 04. According to information from Italian transfer expert Rudy Galetti, the 17-year-old central midfielder seems inclined to accept an offer from the German record champions for a five-year contract.
RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are therefore still interested in Ouedraogo. The two Bundesliga clubs recently appeared to be in pole position with Ouedraogo, as the youngster was apparently worried about not getting enough playing time at FC Bayern. The fate of Fiete Arp, who moved to Munich as a highly-praised talent at a young age but was never able to establish himself there, is said to have put Ouedraogo off. Now apparently the turnaround! Ouedraogo seems to have the confidence to make the big move to the Isar.
Ouedraogo costs between nine and twelve million euros
There have also been reports of interest from Liverpool FC, but according to Galetti, the Reds have not yet made a concrete offer.
Ouedraogo is regarded as one of the greatest talents in German football. He became world and European champion with the German U17 national team. His contract at Schalke expires in 2027. However, according to Sky, he could leave Schalke in the summer of 2024 for seven million euros.
However, this sum would not apply to FC Bayern, as Munich play in European competition. A move to the Isar would therefore cost between nine and twelve million euros. Should Ouedraogo make an appearance for the German senior national team in the coming months, a fixed transfer fee of 20 million euros would apply. Ouedraogo’s market value is estimated at eight million euros by Transfermarkt.de.
